Arabesque and Tango Unframed

FJK Dance presents the worldwide premier of Arabesque and Tango Unframed.

Arabesque:

A piece based on contemporary ballet and tied with sensual Middle Eastern origins of movement that, together, create the concept of a mirage in the open desert and the mystic presence of man. A testimony to the powerful union between human movement and music.

Music by Mercan Dede, Said Murad and Samer Ali.

Tango Unframed:

Passionate, dramatic and seamless, Tango Unframed takes partnering to an extreme stage. The Argentinian tango is performed with classical ballet vocabulary and modern movement––creating a unique story of dance where the tango frame represents a prison when done in solitude and ultimate freedom when performed in duets.

Original music composed and arranged for FJK Dance by Ronald Jackson and Emilio Solla and recordings from Rosa Antonelli. Inspired by authentic classical tango tunes.

FJK Dance's presentation of Arabesque and Tango Unframed at New York Live Arts is made possible through New York Live Arts’ Theater Access Program. The Theater Access Program is a comprehensive subsidized rental program benefiting a diverse group of dance and theater companies and producing organizations.
