14 Questions With Avant-Garde Choreographer Yvonne Meier (via ArtInfo)

Yvonne Meier was recently interviewed by Allison Meier at ArtInfo.com. In the piece, Meier discusses process, influences and her upcoming performances of The Shining. The legendary 1993 work is back by popular demand at New York Live Arts this December 11 – 16 and 18 – 12.

“Can you recall any audience reactions that particularly surprised or interested you?

In 1992, Laurie Anderson came to see the show. At the end, she refused to leave and was lying in the middle of the space. We had to pull her out of the space by her legs.”
